A bit about me the artist Lisa Slate

My name is Lisa, I live in a beautiful leafy suburb of Adelaide filled with many trees and the sound of kookaburras and cockatoos. We get plenty of koalas and can hear the amazing sound of frogs on a summers evening.

I want you to get a sense of joy and happiness from my paintings. I paint intuitively with my focus being on layers and different stories, colours and marks coming through.

The older I get the more layers I have built up around me. Some are great and I am really proud of those layers, other layers need some more work or a different colour thrown in to get that right feeling or pop. As we all know life is a work in progress sometimes we get it right and sometimes we have to keep trying.

Painting for me has opened me up to more of my feelings and brings me such joy and happiness that creating has always done for me but on a much more personal level than any other creative endeavour has done.
